Abstract
Abstract: The importance of good management in the library will have a major impact on improving the literacy process among students. The purpose of this study was to find out how the management of the school library in fostering students' interest in reading at MI Islamiyah. The research carried out is using a qualitative approach with the case study method. The data sources used are primary sources in the form of interviews, observations and secondary sources in the form of documentation. The sources of research informants were school principals, library staff and 12 students. Data collection techniques through interviews, documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study are that the school library has been managed well by implementing library management, namely first, the planning for managing the school library at MI Islamiyah has been carried out properly. Second, there is an organizational structure in the school library at MI Islamiyah. Third, the implementation of school library management at MI Islamiyah has been good, but there are still several programs that have not been realized. Fourth, supervision of the management of the school library at MI Islamiyah is carried out directly by the school principal. This research is useful as academic material for literacy activities in schools. With this research it is hoped that librarian teachers, library heads, students and all academics will be able to be literate about the quality and professionalism of library management.
